Donation Directed from Local Farmers

Sponsored by the Bayer Fund, America's Farmers Grow Communities has a goal of strengthening rural communities by connecting farmers with capital to invest into local nonprofits. Farmers have the opportunity to apply for these funds once a year and award $2,500 to the organization of their choosing.

Chris and Kyle Dixon with Dixon Farms enrolled last August, and were given this exact opportunity! In fact, this is the second $2,500 awarded by Dixon Farms. About five years ago, they designated the Water Valley Fire Department to aid in the purchase of much needed equipment.

This year, the Dixon's elected to donate those funds to their local ambulance service. After talking with Kyle, he acknowledged the financial strain on the service after the drop of hospital support back in 2017. Director of EMS, Kevin Kelley explained the funds would be used to help pay down the debt acquired at that time through the purchase of ambulances, stretchers and cardiac monitors.

Jonah and Ava hold our award sign proudly, even with the sun shining in their faces! The Dixon's will display the award in their shop. We hope they are reminded of how grateful we are for their support to KenTenn EMS each time they look at it!
