The Fall semester of the EMT program brought about two programs, the third EMT Basic offering and the inaugural Advanced EMT program. This is the first time KenTenn EMS has offered an Advanced class. It has been a goal of the organization to offer an advanced program, and Fall brought that goal to fruition.
KTEMS Academy welcomed Instructor and Paramedic Beth Roberts back in the early summer. Roberts instructed this Fall's EMT Basic program while Joe Smith followed many of the Spring 2021 Basic graduates into their Advanced training.
Along with a new addition to the staff, the classroom located at the Fulton EMS base received a facelift. With a wall gone, fresh paint, flooring and fixtures, the classroom was much more accommodating to students practicing skills.
A Graduation ceremony was held Monday, December 20, 2021 to recognize successful students of both Fall 2021 EMT Programs. The event was catered with refreshments by Bluebird Bistro and cake by Fancy Fannie's Bakery. Nearly 100 individuals made up of students, family and community members gathered at the Pontotoc Community Center in Fulton to celebrate the graduates below.

These EMT Programs are important to the community in order to train additional providers much needed locally and in surrounding areas. EMS agencies around the country are facing issues with lack of staffing. By offering a training program, KenTenn EMS is working to reduce the staffing burdens of local and area services. Thank you to those who directly and indirectly support KTEMS Academy and make this mission possible!
KenTenn EMS will offer a hybrid EMT Basic and Advanced EMT Program for the Spring 2022 semester. For future program offerings and additional information, visit www.ktems.org/adademy.
